ARYAN MEMORY: MUSICAL TRADITIONS IN PAMIR
Kailas Records, Dolina Bartanga and FULLDOZER present a unique deluxe collector's editon of traditional Pamir music "Aryan Memory". The set comprises a 6-page double DVD digipack holding two audio-CDs, a DVD and a 20-page full-colored booklet with information on musicians and conventional musical instruments of the Pamirs as well as a 100-page full-colored book in 14x25 cm format which describes the history of the Pamirs, beliefs and traditional ways of life of local residents (about 200 illustrations, texts are in both Russian and English). All components are packed in a bright-colored cardboard box. The Pamirs territory, being an almost inaccessible region, has preserved to this day tokens of the most ancient human culture, symbols, music, worldview, which are at least several millennia old - the spiritual foundation that gave birth to the greatest European and Asian cultures. But it should be mentioned that Pamir music is relatively unresearched, there have been issued only about five CD recordings, of which only one or two were favored with positive responses from the indigenous population of the Pamirs, because the spirit of this ancient civilization completely dissolves in recording studios and stays alive only when the music is performed in traditional environment. This recording of traditional Pamir music, presented in the "Aryan Memory" edition, is one of a few in this list, that had captured musicians in a fully unconstrained state and where the impact of sound-recording equipment was kept to a minimum. Particular attention should be given to the DVD, which is an integral part of the set. The film was shot both in the Pamirs in the River Bartang's Valley and at the Museum of musical instruments in Gurmindzh. It is an hour and a half long and it demonstrates the Pamir nature, it's ancient culture, dances and music and also exposes the psychology of the natives. There is no voice over or subtitles, the film relies mostly on meditative and trance-like perception. The book contains a lot of photos of forbidden regions of the Pamirs which in the recent times have been absolutely inaccessible to foreigners and are hardly accessible even now...

THEODOR BASTARD. PUSTOTA
Updated 2006 version of "Pustota" with several bonus tracks and new artwork - 6page digipack. NOTCHNOI PROSPEKT. ASBASTOS
Notchnoi Prospekt was formed in Moscow, 1985 by Alexei Borisov (guitar, vocals, lyrics) and Ivan Sokolovsky (keyboards, electronics). At the very beginning of thier activity the duo played electro-pop with the elements of rockabilly, twist, ska, post-punk and industrial. In 1987 the drummer Sergei Pavlov and violin player Dmitry Kutergin joined the band. Since that time NP started to develop industrial electronics mixed with psychodelia, noize, free improvized music and absurdizm. In the 80-s NP became popular in Russia, playing concerts all over the country and taking part at different rock and art festivals. The most famous live performances and recordings of NP in the 80-s are "Humanitarian Life" (1986), "New Physicists" (1987), "Democracy and Discipline" (1987/88), "Acids" (1988/89), "Asbastos" (1989/91). The first concert abroad NP played in Vienna, 1989, in "Stalingrad" club. After that NP has been on tour in Scandinavia and released "Sugar" LP at "Accelerating Blue Fish" label from Malmo (Sweden). At the end of 1989 Sokolovsky left the band, having an idea to start his solo career. Till 1995 Notchnoi Prospekt was active as a band, later beeing transformed into experimental modular project. In 2000 the band was reorganized by Borisov, Sokolovsky and Kutergin. For the last 15 years Pavlov lives in Munich, but from time to time he joins the band on stage and in the studio. The current repertoire of Notchnoi Prospekt consists of the reworked and decomposed songs of the 80-s (Acids, Radio set, I need no information, Ensembles, Unknown faces etc) as well as new compostions... "Asbastos" recorded and mixed in 1989. LP originally released in 1990 on SNC Records (Russia). Re-released in special 6page digipack with bonus tracks.

The collaboration of popular folk-rock singer Rada Anchevskaya (Rada & Ternovnik) and wellknown Moscow improvizers Sergei Letov (saxophones, flute, bass clarinet etc) and Alexei Borisov (electronics), with the participation of Vladimir Anchevsky (sound engineering, guitar). The project started one year ago as a live trio or quartet. Later the joint process was fixed in real time in the studio. OIDUPAA VLADIMIR OIUN. DIVINE MUSIC FROM A JAIL
"He's from Tuva, Russia. Tuva is a geographic centre of Eurasia, kind of. Really beautiful and dangerous place. A plenty of different cultures clashed here, giving a birth to unique music. Khyrgheerha is a Tuva natives throat song. Oidupaa Vladimir Oiun performs his own kind of khyrgheerha, not a traditional, they say, but very emotional. As a human being, Vladimir isn't a nice guy. POOSTOSH. UNTIME
Poostosh appeared in 2002 in Moscow, more exactly in The Central House of Actors. Initially the name of the project was Dark Brigade (2002). The main musicians are Mikhail Salnikov (MOX, QUTH), Andrey Kovalenko and Andrey Gavrilov (Bludny syn), Mosty (The Bridges, ex-Silence Kit), who joined them later. "Untime" recorded in 2002-03, issued in 2005. The name of the album means something, which is opposite to a process of time. There is a lot of guitar presence, in general the album resembles an soundtracks for non-existent movies. RATZKEVITCH. SONGS
"The intensity of poetic delirium of this well-known master of the electronic music is so immeasurable that all those people mentioned in the booklet - S.Sokolov, R.Bredbery, D.C.Thomas, V. Rosanov and P. Desmond - are almost indistinct. There are endless variety of musical quotations, cultural allusions, stylization of all kinds etc. So what? Just imagine "ORB" or "Aphex Twin" recording the soundtrack to Soviet classic movie about World War II"

RATZKEVITCH. ROCK'MIX'ROLL
"The remixed rock-n-roll of Vladimir Ratzkevich, released in 1996, isn't rock-n-roll, but our image of it. And it's a rather foolish and funny image. This is how mature musicians probably say good-bye to their heroic past. Then again, the recipe of that last word is pretty simple. You usually take practically every melodic and rhythmic model you know of (rock, country, rhythm and blues), stylish dance rhythms of the mid 90's, quotes from Shostakovich, Dunaevsky and the like. Then all this is made into a sample and turned into complete idiocy".

LA SEGA DEL CANTO. LIGHT METAL MUSIC
About 10 years ago, Mercury Rev familiarised the indie rock community with the singing saw as a musical instrument. Now there's a weird Finnish comedy folk band using it as a principal instrument. Band name and album title are clear references to the saw used in their minimalist lo-fi folk tunes, although there are also guitars, drums, piano and pump organ giving the music a nostalgic and dreamful touch. The album's subtitle, The Great Collection Of Finnish Depressions, indicates that La Sega Del Canto is no funny experience. Digipack.

NYLON 66'ERS. YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! IT WAS 40 YEARS AGO
More jazz from Hell! The first incarnation of the Turku-based Nylon 66'ers frightened music lovers already in the beginning of the 90's. After three albums and sometimes even disco beats, the orchestra went into a state of hibernation. 2007 saw the release of Yeah, Yeah, Yeah - 50 000 Nylon Fans Cannot Be Wrong, a new album and a compilation of their earlier career on a double CD. Nylon 66'ers have specialized to give an instrumental, organ-led treatment for songs made familiar by others, yet occasionally they work with guest vocalists as well.

MANSON, CHARLES. THE SUMMER OF HATE - THE '67 SESSIONS
Charles Manson's name should be no stranger to lovers of the weird and wonderful, having been sentenced to life without parole for his leadership of the cult "The Family", who committed several murders in the late '60s. Before these events, Charley had high-hopes of becoming a pop star, with his strange psychedelic folk music - bizarrely more fashionable today than ever. Here for the first time are the complete recordings that were made on 11th September 1967 in a rehearsal studio, which went onto be used as demos to try to secure a recording deal, which never happened. Spoken word elements throughout the 18 tracks (just under 45 minutes). Essential for collectors of '60s Folk and weird psych freakouts.

BABYLONE CHAOS. LES MACHINES ECARLATES
"A man with a fish eye stared at me when I satisfied my computer with this CD. The artwork on this release is awesome, something which is thoughtful to do when you release your CD in a DVD case. On the front of "Les Machines Ecarlates" stands a man pierced through his forehead with a huge piece of piping. On the back a man with a fish eye gives me a look, which keeps me away from the track listing underneath it. I must say, it pleases me to receive such artwork, I could write a good review about the artwork alone. Listening to the CD I found that Babylone Chaos can be compared, in a strange way, with Aphex Twin. You can hear beats, but they never last longer than a few measures. That is one of the reasons why this CD sounds so great. Babylone Chaos doesn't care about being tagged with a genre; the artist just does what he wants. The CD isn't one you listen to on a regular occasion. Listening to "Les Machines Ecarlates" is a trip. A trip to the beautiful, the ugly, the frightening the heaven and the hell".

HARVEST RAIN. BLOOD HYMNS
These Midnight Sessions began within the Winter Solstice and the recordings continued during the 12 Nights of Yule in 2002. 'Blood Hymns' is a personal soundtrack to the search for Thule/Hyperborea. The Spirit's journey back to the lost homeland. A "musical diary" of the blood answering the Pull of Magnetic North's Most Northerly Midnight. Where one finds the 13th Hour. These Midnight Sessions began after 'A Frost Comes with the Wind' and should be considered the follow-up to that album. The largest line-up for a Harvest Rain album yet. Special preparations and work with the Chilean artist Juan Almarza Anwandter of Der Arbeiter without whom this album would not be. 'Blood Hymns' is for all those on the Path of A-MOR. Expect simply the best with this new collection of heathen folk music anthems...

FIN DE SIECLE. PATAGONIE
"Patagonie" is subdivided into 15 tracks chapters and develops like a film soundtrack, suggesting to the listener's imagination scenes, places and images through its minimal, sometimes disturbing music. Classical instruments, like flute, violin, accordion and violin, combine with piano, noises, samples, distant ghostly voices and other effects, achieving results close to certain ambient music, experimental cinema scores and cold wave. The general atmosphere evoked by Fin De Siecle's music is oppressing and gloomy, making the listener think of old, dusty and dim-lighted houses, or abandoned warehouses full of old knick-knacks and broken toys. Not exactly like the peaceful and exotic shores of Patagonia".

HALO MANASH. LANGUAGE OF RED GOATS
Guided by nether nectars and dream herbs, oneiric visions and the light of lunar tides, Halo Manash Language of Red Goats aims to be a cartography of cavernous elemental realms and regions, sources and springs that run deep and thick with the fluids of life, death and dream. What was seeded at the Thin Veils has been gathered at Harvest time, and is offered to the seeker as a libation and guide into the ever-liminal, shrouded spaces, for dream-vigils and awakenings. Language of Red Goats is a complete work in itself, but can also be viewed as the first facet of a tripartite series of works that are part of one holistic creation - three faces of the same being. More akin to a primitive fieldrecording in the realm of oneirotropic exploration, than an actual album, the work consists of one lengthy tripartite soundscape. Utilizing only gongs, bells, metal bowls and wind instruments, as well as flocks of birds, the work is in contrast to earlier more refined works that feature a wide multiplicity of instruments and soundsources. Language of Red Goats is a bare, primitive and sometimes raw aural landscape, and yet nonetheless achieves a rare subliminal intensity and an edge of otherwordly luminosity. Comes in a hand finished cardboard booklet, in an edition of 920 copies.

AURAL HOLOGRAMS. VOL. I
The very first part of the Aural Holograms series incorporates various call and response patterns manifesting vibrating, subtle energies, all of which have been accurately divided into separate rhythmic dimensions and time-shifting aural tapestries. The overall experience - i.e. the ecstatic effect - is transmitted by the intensity of syncopated rhythms, reed organ lingering on a few tones, self-transforming vocal work accompanied with carefully chosen oscillating tunes and a variety of percussive patterns utilising artefacts crafted according to the methods of traditional metallurgia, as well as real-time tape operations. ZOAT-AON. THE TRIPLEX BESTIAL
By the careful adjustment and manipulation of both modern and archaic mediums is created a highly dynamic work of aural alchemy depicting the trance and dream of a carnal totem standing between Heaven and Earth, where the unearthly sound of starlight's serpentine arteries winding together with the blackened branches above mingles with the oneiric hisses and crackles of necromantic phantoms and slithering roots below. A barbarous, sonic paradox suggesting the subtle arousal of the ancestry in flesh, a work both soothing and threatening to the intuitive mind. Comes in an oversized 4 panel cardboard covers. ARKTAU EOS. MIRRORION
Presented in seventeen chapters that can be approached as singular gateways or a slowly unfolding journey of epic proportions, the debut album of ARKTAU EOS is a challenging, complex work. Born of intense private musico-magical sessions held in places abandoned by man and further refined in the temple-laboratory of the duo, it is the distillation of seven arduous months of work. As the title suggests, 'Mirrorion' is the music of stellar light thrown down from the Heaven's zenith and its eldritch reflections in the depths below, uniting atavistic elemental noise with serene passages of crystalline, spectral ambience. Ultimately, 'Mirrorion' seeks to surpass such earthly definitions in favour of a non-dual vision of reality, hopefully transforming the listener in the process. For this recording ARKTAU EOS have favoured an organic approach with majority of instrumentation being of acoustic variety, including the unearthly choral of the kanglings, piercings blasts of windbones, accelerating steel-plate rolls, singing bowl and various kinds of stringed instruments.

AEOGA. ZENITH BEYOND THE HELIX-LOCUS
From beyond the mundane symbolscape, the 2nd album of Aeoga - entitled 'Zenith Beyond the Helix-Locus' - emits aural phenomena from devouring multi-layered elemental ambience to amorphous and hallucinatory sequences entrancing one's awareness thoroughly. The fifteen formations manifest themselves in various forms; bright and luminous helixes intertwine with shadowed and shapeless non-beings. All in all truly overwhelming material where acoustic instruments and electronic equipment mingle themselves to channel forth the aural elemental current.

NECROPHORUS. DRIFTING IN MOTION
"Arctic ambience, melting with imagination, leads the listener to the frozen tundra at the top of the world. This rarely explored land, resonant with a shimmering radiance that is bleak, barren and mysterious, is distinguished by slivers of fantastical nuances that twinkle like crystals under the midnight sun". The above quotation was taken from a review of the original CD release of "Drifting In Motion" (2000 on Crowd Control Activities). Now, 8 years later it is time for an enhanced re-release for even more refined sound and experience of "Drifting In Motion". The entire album has been carefully re-mixed in 2007 and has been spiced with 3 more nuances. Peter Andersson is a multi-talented man most famous for his RAISON D'ETRE project on the notorious label Cold Meat Industry LABEL but he is also are responisble for music projetcs like Stratvm Terror, Bocksholm, Atomine Elektrine, Panzar and many more. For this new release, two artists, Maria Gullqvist (Sweden) and Eva Verholen (Holland) has been asked to contribute with their own impressions of experiencing "Drifting In Motion". Their amazing works are presented on the completely new designed CD artwork. Composed by Peter Andersson in 1998-1999, except track 7 (2001), track 8 (2006) and track 9 (1991). Naevus' playful self-released debut, "Truffles of Love" came out in 1999. Unavailable for several years, and much sought after by collectors, Naevus' debut album is now reissued by Old Europa Cafe in newly re-mastered form, with significant sonic improvement on the original 1999 release. This re-issue also includes six bonus tracks dating from the same period. These tracks were previously only available on obscure compilations which were released in very limited quantities and are long-since deleted. The inclusion of this bonus material brings the running time of the CD to over 74 minutes and gives a complete picture of the early development of Naevus. Digipack + 16 pp. booklet.

WEIHAN. SYMPHONIES OF DIVINATION
"Symphonies Of Divination" is the sophomore album of this very promising project from the medieval lands bordering the cold North Sea, Flanders (North-Belgium). Dramatically straying from the neo-folk path of their debut album "Galder", "Symphonies Of Divination" offers dark and bombastic compositions with clear references to Slavonic, German and Scandinavian classical music. Heavy percussion, assiduous spiccato string sections, dramatic horn accents and haunting choirs form the backbone of this album. The cold and eerie narrative vocals enhance the grim atmosphere of the music even further. The lyrics, mainly in English but with hints of Dutch, Old-Norse and Swedish, are devoted to Indo-Germanic religion, myth and legend, the Nietzschean spirit and relentlessly attest to the grotesque decline of the modern world. The album will be released as a limited edition digipack of 540 copies; each album thus representing a gate to the Hall of the Slain, Valhalla. The concept as a whole is a key to higher cosmological understanding; let the 432.000th year of Kali Yuga begin with "Symphonies of Divination"! The cycle continues as a new world arises out of the shed blood of the old... Digipack + 12 pp. booklet.

FOVEA HEX. HUGE
Following the critical acclaim which has greeted ep 1 "Bloom", Die Stadt and Janet Records are proud to announce that "Huge" EP 2 in the NEITHER SPEAK NOR REMAIN SILENT limited edition series by FOVEA HEX is out. FOVEA HEX continues to shape-shift and to evade & confound those who bray "What exactly IS it?", and "Where does it BELONG exactly?", and "Who exactly belongs to IT?". If you must bang on the table like that, you won't hear a thing. If this music can be described as "up-to-the-moment", then perhaps we could use an up-to-the-moment term like "collective". But eschewing all Fashion Accessory stalls, it lives as many miles away from the shock'n'awe factory beloved of the avantgarde, as it does from the souvenir-strewn temple of the new nostalgics. All in all, FOVEA HEX is something more akin to a labrynthine ensemble of associates, some recent, some ancient, some close to the core, some distant, some very heard-of and some never-heard-of, all of whom showed willing and able, at some point in time (and for reasons best known to themselves) to slither in and help prepare and perform these songs and quasi-songs written - or at least started-off - by CLODAGH SIMONDS. "Songs that don't go where you think. With voices to match..." somebody said recently. At the end of the day, that's about all that CAN be said with any kind of certainty. If you need a better idea of what this means, visit the Janet Records website now, where you'll find some treats we prepaired earlier - three mixes (by Andrew McKenzie) of near-moment excerpts from the songs from ep 1 "Bloom" and three (by Colin Potter and Clodagh Simonds) from new songs from ep 2 "Huge". Players on "Huge": Clodagh Simonds, Colin Potter, Roger Doyle, Cora Venus Lunny, Brian Eno, Laura Sheeran, Percy Jones, Carter Burwell, Lydia Sasse, Hugh O'Neill, Sarah McQuaid. The CD comes in a full colour embossed cover. Edition of 2000 copies.

OLHON. UNDERWATER PASSAGE
Field-recordings maestros OLHON are back with a new stunning album. "Underwater passage" is based upon underwater recordings taken in 2006 by Zairo (WHERE), then treated by Massimo Magrini (of BAD SECTOR fame). These recordings were taken using special sensing microphones attached to an abandoned telephone cable running on the sea bottom at -40 m.; they were then processed with particular demodulating treatments, resulting in a complex and rich ambiental monument. Strange clicks, impulses, a load of movements. Definitely far from the usual concept of dark ambient = low-rumbling drones only, "Underwater passage" shimmers with cutting mid/high frequencies bursts. A very challenging listening, trust me. 6page digipack.

Ultra deep, glacial Dark Ambient, based around Antarctic co-ordinates. The polar regions are awe-inspiring environments of inhospitable minimalism, and at the same time there's a beautiful serenity to be found in their uncharted bleakness. IN GOWAN RING. EXISTS AND ENTRANCES
Jon Michael B'Eirth ( B' - IN GOWAN RING / BIRCH BOOK) is one of the last of a dying breed, that of the wandering minstrel. At the same time he is one of the first, one of the founders of a new generation of Folk musicians, gently growing out of the early ninetees, after a worldwide, for 15 years lasting dark era of no ambitious Folkrock music at all. approaching the middle of the 70ies, all the great Folk-Rock bands, Songwriters and Minstrels either disappeared or started to drift into triviality (beside a very few exceptions) and the darkness in Folk should last up to the late 80ies/early 90ies, when artists from the early World Serpent label recovered their roots out of the late 60ies/early 70ies era. this was the time, when the young B' joined World Serpent and within only 2 albums, he got one of the most important acts on that label and for the whole growing scene. from the very beginning until today he was the lonesome wandering minstrel and with his heartbreaking balads and Psychedelic Folk tunes he occupied many hearts over the past 15 years. IN GOWAN RING is not only unique because of B's outrider position, he is also a perfectionist and a highly professional autodidact. he is one of the very few persons I ever met, who plays all imaginable instruments and who is even able to build and (re)construct these instruments himself. a unique genius with a big heart full of sadness and flowers... "Exists & Entrances" is a retrospective through the years 1994 to 2003. all 40 songs and 157 minutes have never been released officially before, only the artist himself gave away some copies on CDR. on several songs B' was performing with Michael Moinyhan & Annabel Lee (BLOOD AXIS / ALRAUNE), with Markus Wolff (WALDTEUFEL) and other friends around his magical circle of Folk freaks. besides several traditional songs, this compilation also includes coverversions from songs by great 60ies/70ies Progressive Folk artists and songwriters, like THE INCREDIBLE STRING BAND, STRAWBS, VASHTI BUNYAN, NICK DRAKE, FRED NIEL, ROD McKUEN, as well as coverversions from PSYCHIC TV, LEGENDARY PINK DOTS, Brian Castillo (JARBOE) and 17 PYGMIES. - all songs were remastered by Axel Frank (WERKRAUM) in the Blue Lounge Studios/Berlin. DISSECTING TABLE. ULTRA MATERIALS 1986-1991
Dissecting Table is one of the most influential Noise artists from the early Japanese Industrial years. the first Dissecting Table recordings are quite unique in the Japanese Industrial scene, as the band was working with very concrete rhythms and screaming voices and they even had dark and slow songs, which was completely untypical for this time and region. the only comparisons to early Dissecting Table recordings might be the legendary albums of GRIM and WHITE HOSPITAL. On this 2CD-set You find the A-side of the first 7" (Ultimate Psychological Description - 1986), the first LP (Ultra point of intersection exist - 1987), the first CD (Between life and death - 1990), all compilation tracks up to 1991 and even a UNRELEASED track from 1986 ! - this 2 CD-set is a milestone for Noise addicts and it's one of the most essential works in Noise music in general!

CISFINITUM / MIGUEL RUIZ / ALEXEI BORISOV. ORNAMENTS
Evgeny Voronovsky (Cisfinitum): "Initial idea of collaboration with Miguel Ruiz appeared during his Moscow tour, participation of Alexei Borisov being implied. In early spring of 2006 Miguel sent me a disc with ambient recordings. They were free of rhythms and very atmospheric. Performing in Madrid in summer, I brought him these mercilessly edited tracks which he could hardly identify as his own compositions. Miguel added some rhythms and I received a new version from him in autumn. We worked in the distance by means of e-mail, as a genuene group, keeping mail-art traditions of the 80-s. Then I edited Miguel's mix once more, added my own rhythmic compositions in stock. After running it through I arrived at a conclusion that there were some lacunas that could be successfully filled by Borisov's materials that recided in my studio waiting for their chance to come. It was a disc with the rhythms of analogous drum machines, long ago recorded by Alexei. So after adding his tracks I realized that Borisov ought to record additional voice, guitar, and so on. It was winter again. Early in January Alex delivered two tracks supplemented with various queer sounds, which served me as a material for the final version of the album. I sent it to Miguel and received highly approving answer from him. I believe that this record is utterly extrinsic for three of us: a kind of dark-ambient with trance rhythms".

BORISOV, ALEXEI & ANTON NIKKILA. WHERE ARE THEY NOW
Borisov and Nikkila are sticking around for many years, occasionally collaborating here and there and helping each other with their solo efforts, too. Moreover, they are both involved in N&B Research Digest label, which is intended for all their current projects. "Where Are They Now" is the most recent N&B's release, out in 2007. Besides the usual juggling with textual images inducing the nostalgic feelings, they succeed also some stylistic experiments: sometimes all we can hear is jazz, although it's all made by electronic means (excluding the guitars). Some tracks recorded live during the gigs in several european venues, as far as Borisov uses to play his sets in very different and unpredictable way. So what about is this album? Well, as we getting older we got obsessed with our memories more and more, as they are growing too. Seems that musicians are trying to recollect these memories in somehow chaotic and say confusing approach. But they apparently succeed with this, because we are all the brothers in time, so it's always charming and transparent idea to share and commemorate.

KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK + HLADNA. ROKTON + FORMANTA
Hladna and Kryptogen Rundfunk - behind these names stand two St. Petersburg-based musicians playing experimental noise music. They both nourish a tender passion for old electronic instruments and often use them at their concerts and on recordings. One warm sunny day they gathered and decided to play on two analogue rhythm synthesizers "Rokton" and "Formanta". These are actually two identical instruments which were produced in the Soviet Union by two different factories. Each of them is the "brain" for electronic drum-kit, but can also be used separately - as a multi-channel tone-noise-generator or rhytm-machine. Kryptogen Rundfunk used his device smoothly, evenly and calmly while Hladna expelled from his more sharp and unpredictable sounds. Worth mentioning are Hladna's non-standard ways of making sound - on the last two tracks he opened the back plate of his synth and played not only using knobs but also getting inside and abridging contacts with his own hands (for which he was incidentally struck by the current a couple of times). Live recording without any processing, with all it's natural crackles and tasty overloads. Abstract electronics, minimalism and a little noise.

ERTHAD. GMA
Russian project Erthad, originating from Kazan, exists since late 90-ies, but until now still hasn't made any official releases and preferred to stay in underground, recording music only for himself and his friends. We have been endeavouring to change this situation for a long time and now we're glad to present this wonderful disk to your attention. "Gma" was recorded in 2002 with the use of voice and software noise synthesizers. If one says that the album's style is called "ambient noise" - is to say almost nothing. The disk has very specific atmosphere: this is a noise meditation, calm and detached from emotional fuss. An intuitive electronic pulse synchronizes with brain frequencies, rising and falling waves of non-aggressive white noise pacify thoughts, and constantly rustling high frequencies when listened to attentively evoke dissotiative sensation, dissolving perception in the sonic field. However, everything as always depends on a listener himself.

INFANT CYCLE, THE. PLAYOUT
The Infant Cycle is a project of the Canadian artist Jim DeJong working under this name since 1994. It may seem surprising, but all these 13 years he remained in the underground of experimental music, and his name is well-known only to inveterate enthusiasts and explorers of this strange phenomenon. The project has put out 6 full-length albums on cassettes and CD-Rs, several singles and an amazing series of minions called "Clear Shape" released in ultra-limited editions on transparent vinyls of unusual forms (square, hexagon and triangle). Jim has also recorded a lot of collaboration works with such musicians as Big City Orchestra, Dronaement, Orphx, Aidan Baker, Delphium, etc., some of them were published by his own label The Ceiling. The Infant Cycle's music has never been notable for tensity or ornateness, instead of this it focuses on the subtle aspects of sounding of separate timbres and their combinations. Such textural orientation allows to create a completely peculiar effect, and the seeming minimalism carries into the contemplation of the infinity of possible microsound combinations. In this connection, Jim knows how to get on with both rhythms and drone ambient prostration. Among his favourite instruments are Poly-800, shortwaves, feedback, field recordings and altered vinyl records. Vinyls deserve special mentioning. Jim carved the runout grooves of records and thus created simple and unembellished (yet in some ways, unpredictable) rhythm patterns. Once he decided to start a project severely limiting the sound sources to one carved playout and the operational sounds of his old 4-speed Califone record player. Additional noises were generated by running a razor blade along the platter while it was spinning (the blade at different altitudes, and the platter at different speeds which was picked up by the needle), and the tone arm being vibrated into different tones by a violin bow (amplified via the needle). An early track (called, fittingly "Playout (Early)") appeared on "Lagrimas De Miedo #8 - Sund", a compilation CD coming with the eighth issue of France's "Fear Drop" magazine (2001). Two excerpts were also released as a free promotional 5" by The Ceiling to announce the then-upcoming CD release of "Playout" on the American label Merchants Of Sound. But the label soon folded out, and the recording was lying and lying in the bins of The Infant Cycle's archive.

OVERDOSE KUNST. WAS IST OVERDOSE KUNST
The Japanese duet Overdose Kunst exists since 2001 and records a strange sort of music which they call "schizopoetry". Rejection of stylistic norms in the name of sound-craft freedom, deconstruction and irrational re-assemblage of musical material - that's what stands behind this term. This approach allows them to keep a child's purity and frankness in musical perception with the ability to send an emotional charge without using settled compositional forms. This disc includes the most song-like tracks of the band: crookedly recorded guitars, voices emotionally singing some nonsense in a mixture of several languages, and reversed melodies. Fine and lyrical post-rock from Japanese experimental underground.

NAZI BASTARDS FROM ALDEBARAN. INVASION
An unknown artifact of the 90-ies Russian industrial scene! Having recorded several tracks in 1997-1999 the members of the project haven't done absolutely anything to make the result available for the public, and they just disappeared in complete obscurity... Years later the composition "Swastika Man" was released on the "Red Square" compilation by KultFRONT label. And only now can the gap be considered completely filled as this disk contains the full legacy of the project. Music of NBFA is a kind of old school electro industrial: catchy rhythms, melodies and well thought-out synthetic fillings of tracks. Various samples spice up the compositions, and their titles like "Illuminati", "Cleansing the Planet", "Nazi UFO Attacks Paris Nightclub" unambiguously talk about the ideological basis of this mysterious project.

ELIK, YURI / GOSHA SOLNZEV. VOICES OF THE DEAD
Photographer and videoartist Yuri Elik is primarily known as one of the founders and permanent members of multimedia project 2012, creating audio-video installations on various contemporary art festivals (SKIF, Heilige Feuer, Multivision, etc.). Apart from this Yuri performs on his own making video- and slide-shows for a number of experimental musical bands in St. Petersburg. Yuri is also the video show author for the performances of Simon Magus ballet written by D. Kakhovskiy and the designer of several CD artworks and websites. Gosha Solnzev (also known as "Van Gog" - 1g0g) - big industrial showman, leader of the project Noises of Russia well-known in Russia, organizer of several festivals, such as "Noise vs. Glamour", "Military Days", "Noisy Women", etc. Gosha has always claimed that he plays funeral music, so it's no wonder he showed interest in the phenomenon of voices of the dead, discovered by Friedrich Jurgenson in the late 50s of the past century. Electronic Voice Phenomenon (voices of the dead, Raudive voices) are the voices of anomalous origin appearing while making records on tape recorders or other electronic audio devices. EVP researches claim and have proof that this is a possible way of communication between physical and some other non-physical planes of existence. The exploration of this phenomenon led to an effective cooperation between Van Gog and Yuri which resulted in a series of live performances with the "Voices of the Dead" program and this short film, with 24 minutes an obscure psychedelic drama evolving in front of the spectator. A multi-layered collage of concrete visual images and kaleidoscopic colour fields constantly transforms, accompanied by unusual and uneasy sombre ambient with real voices of the dead samples interlaced in it's structure. As a bonus this disk also contains a 12-min. slide-film "City Spirits": alternation of photos by Yuri Elik with his own soundtrack constructed from city noises. Yuri skillfully focuses attention on subtleties of usual things that remain unseen to the eye of a usual human being, generally too busy with thinking over his insubstantial problems and forgetting about the beauty of the world surrounding him. The release is packed in a special cardboard sleeve and goes with a booklet with an encyclopaedic reference about the phenomenon of electronic voices.

V/A - RUSH FOR BLACK CELEBRATION. RUSSIAN INDUSTRIAL DEPECHE MODE TRIBUTE
Russian Industrial Depeche Mode Tribute is the result of 3 years of work made by Russian industrial musicians who wanted to express their attitude to the famous band in an unusual way. As a rule, DM tributes (and there are over 30 of them for today) present collections of carefully replayed DM songs, and this is done mostly for promoting those who decided to "replay the original" and make it "same way as bafore". Rush for Black Celebration is completely different in this sense. First of all, in it's mood. This disc almost completely lacks for serene naivety of 80-ies, oftenly associated with DM. On the contrary, here one can feel the aspiration for the dark corners of subconsciousness, where one can accidentally (or intentionally) get moving around the CD tracks. Secondly, this tribute is the only dedication to the legendary pop-band where the covers are not only driven by the feeling of recognition or love, but also by the critical revisiting their insane popularity, and even by the feeling of hatred to what they were doing. The result is 17 compositions almost fitting the 80-min limit of the CD. Featuring: Das Reut, Light Collapse, Tbilisi-89, Interior Disposition, Sal Solaris, Alexei Borisov, M-28, Stpocold, Ganzer, Hladna, Instant Movie Combinations, Maroon, Kryptogen Rundfunk, Tsaraas, Noises of Russia, Kaj? 6page digipack.

MAJDANEK WALTZ / SAL SOLARIS. HIMMEL DES REICHS / DER HIMMEL UBER BERLIN
Split "Himmel Des Reichs / Der Himmel Uber Berlin" is a re-issue of the most energetic recording of MW with remastered sound, with special support of their associated from SS. In fact the release continues the theme of MW's single "Cranes" - the theme of inanity of the confrontation between the two forces of brother-soldiers. And yet two poles can be distinctly seen here, divided both stylistically and ideologically. If four tracks of MW are the hymns of one of the confronting sides, performed at the meeting point of anxious military-industrial and dark-folk, four tracks of SS are the ambient-industrial memory of those who was at the other side of the front. The CD is accomplished by a thematical videoclip of SS "Der Himmel Uber Berlin" created from archive video-materials. The author is a clip-maker Oleg Potiy (VJ Dornier Wal). The artwork contains rare photographs from 1939 when the fighters of both poles were still confederates. 6page digipack.

MAJDANEK WALTZ. HAMLETH'S CHILDHOOD
Born in "the soul of all Russia" - the city of Ryazan' - musicians of Majdanek Waltz are carried away by the most mysterious, so called Siver Age of Russian poerty and prose. They appeal to decadence and withered roses weaving them into the "heavenly tragedy" of European expressionism. On a dark stage, among silence, appears death... Without time, like a paradoxical-permanent attribute of the eternal in human soul. "Hamleth's Childhood" is the first in last 3 years, new and long-awaited full-length album of Majdanek Waltz. It's name is taken after a poem by Boris Poplavsky, who was called "a distant violin between close balalaikas" by Vladimir Nabokov... The musicians themselves say that this album reveals the band's sound at most. They have used their classical instruments: guitar, bass, bayan (accordion), violin, keyboards and human voices. For the first time here's female voice - of Larisa Archipetskaya - "precticing witch in third generation" - as the musicians say. Guest appearances also include Anthesteria, Misery and Wolfsblood. The new album emphasizes the emotional saturation, it immerses the listener in melancholy and light autumnal sorrow. Fading, freezing cold and the beauty of death. Besides Boris Poplavsky's poems, "Hamlet's Childhood" is based upon the works of mystic symbolists Georg Heim and Maximilian Voloshin. 6page digipack.

MAJDANEK WALTZ. COLD
"Cold" is the 4th release of KultFront label and the 2nd officially published work of Ryazan-based group Majdanek Waltz. "Silver age dark folk" - that's how this release can be characterized. Live flute and accordion, guitar and bass, accompanied by smooth industrial noises, cast the feeling of transparent melancholy. This is neither light nor dark feeling. More likely it's closer to cosmic coldness, whirling onto the earth surface. Besides Majdanek Waltz this album was prepared with the help of other musicians: Anthesteria (St. Petersburg) and Wolfsblood (Moscow). Anthesteria presented a remix on the track "Everything is going to be in winter way"; Wolfsblood sang on the track "Cold" to the accompaniment of MW. In addition to this album you'll find previously officially unreleased track "Raven" and two thematic photo galleries uncovering the visual constituent of inner life of Majdanek Waltz' musicians.
