AND ME "Guten Morgen"
11 swiss artists present a track of their electronic work. IDM, minimal techno, glitch and other. AND ME, BALDUIN, PETER BAUMGARTNER, DIMLITE, EVEREST, HERPES O DELUXE, KALEIDOPHONE, NIELS JENSEN, PERSON, RM74 è STEINBRUCHEL.
If I see halbwechs before loud mountains, am that clear here to Swiss a Compilation with Acts, from which most might know probably only Steinbruechel or Niels Jenson. Beautifully in the complex Klappcover from fiberboard, the pieces have such a thing from a summer trip into Switzerland. Kaleidophone leaves knorpelige bass LINES and vershuffelte to cow bell radio loops to collapse against each other and reminds beside still times of Drum and bass meets Lounge music, Steinbruechel plumbs the precision of the Clickerns from the Gebrumm of the waves and segelt as shipwrecked one by the filtered purity of the sound, Everest glockt itself into the darkeren depending on Elektronika, Balduin erkrabbelt itself own sound mountains of Soundtrack BrokenBeats Instrumentals, rm74 gets Urszenen of the psyche raus and roasts it on a rust of chips, Dimlite sprays louder fresh Clickhop ideas of the house, person behaves first to Alva Noto such as erasers to the magnet and drifts then a few planets further of SKAM past, Peter Baumgartner bites itself by echoes, remainder noises and athmosphaerische disturbances, with Niels Jensen turns times a breath of smoother Dancefloor Housefunkyness in, with Herpes Oe Deluxe says the title everything: "riot-addicted halbwuechsige, whose is favourite melody the noise, is set right after a graesslichen music." (I can testify, have I already seen). And then still and ME with a piano comes around the corner geradelt, which wishes us all a sandmaennchen elektronica style good night, with a TRACK logical-proves "good mornings" is called. Very beautiful plate.
De:Bug / march 2003
This CD compiled bands coming from the alternative of the alternative Swiss electronic (instrumental) scene, and most of them are pretty unknown, for the profane. Let's play the "What kind of music do they play?" There are maybe two big families here: with a kind of modern, experimental funky influeces represented by comboms like Kaleidophone and it's jazz touch. Balduin can also be put in this category with a more psychedelic soul, also there, Dimlite and Niels Jensen. the other camp is the ambient/experimental one, with roups such as rm74, Everest, Person, Peter Baumgartner who ist toying with the grequencies to create an experimental track in the literal sense of the word. Last track on this record...And Me, a bit like the unexpected band with their trip-hop/pop music, it's also the only song with clear vocal. All in all, this compilation is not bad at all, but that it will not be atop-seller. The objectives of the label are thus attained!
side line / july 2003
A sampler compiled for the above Swiss convention, this collection showcases those who have been involved in the creation of non-commercial electronic music. Whilst this, like Room 106, also errs on the side of the avant-garde, it gives expression to a range of voices and styles that the former does not seem interested in. Standout tracks include Kaleidophone's soulful excursion into uplifting rhythmic funk, Steinbruchel's abstract soundscape of dark and brooding tones, and my favourite, Everest, whose ‘Waterrelish' delivers exquisite washes of sound, augmented by bells, chimes and snatches of conversation in the background. Also watch out for Niels Jensen, whose ‘Sputnik' uncannily recalls the opening strains of ‘Too Shy' by Kajagoogoo; no kidding, I was almost waiting for Limahl to join in with his new Romantic sighs!

THEODOR BASTARD. OIKOUMENE - Theo Records, 2012
New album of Theodor Bastard. The title refers to an ancient Greek notion, designating the inhabited or "civilized" sections of our planet, in other words those where mankind has left its mark - for better or worse. That global sweep is certainly echoed in the list of contributors, since our Russian artists are joined here by representatives of British, Zulu, Indian, and French-African traditions. Consequently, the list of instruments employed - and their home nations - is even longer. >>
COH. IIRON - Editions Mego (Austria), 2011
Coming 11 years after IRON, which also tackled the sound of rock with alarming results, the new album features not only recent guitar tracks recorded at Music Research Centre at York University, but also recordings made during Soviet era Russia, which refer to Pavlov's underground music activities in the early 80-ies. IIRON is a powerful, well executed electronic rock record, with just a dash a humour to keep it from becoming pompous, as so much of that kind of music can be sometimes. >>

HYBRYDS. SOUNDTRACK FOR THE ANTWERP ZOO AQUARIUM - Zoharum (Poland), 2011
The reissue of a long-deleted classic album by this legendary Belgian project. It was created especially for the 150th anniversary of the Antwerp Zoo. Music composed by Sandy and Hermann (of Ah-Cama Sotz) was woven in between the sounds of dolphins, killer whales and the noise of the underwater world. The Zoo director wrote the following in the preface: "Soundtrack For The Antwerp Zoo Aquarium" is a musical journey of the similar stature as "20 000 Leagues Under the Sea" by Julius Verne. >>

TZOLK'IN. HAAB' - Ant-Zen (Germany), 2008
The musical project Tzolk'in is a collaboration between Empusae and Flint Glass - artists who are known in the fields of dark ambient, contemporary ritualistic tribal music and experimental electronica. This project is a conceptual creation inspired by Mayan mythology and the ancient Mayan astrological calendar of the same name. Tzolk'in can easily be viewed as an exotic soundtrack to the phantoms of a dead civilization. >>
